Instructions for precautions against coronavirus26.3.2020 11:07

The health of our residents and staff is of utmost importance to us. We, too, want to prevent the spread of flu and coronavirus through our actions. We have made the following decisions to slow the spread of coronavirus in light of the situation in Finland.

All events organized by VTS are cancelled until further notice.

Service centre opening hours
Our office is closed until further notice. You can reach us by email at palvelukeskus@vts.fi and by phone on 0201 277 277 (Mon-Thu 09:00-15:00, Fri 09:00-13:00). Many of our services for residents are also available online at www.vts.fi/asukkaalle/inenglish/. Our customer service offices will only serve visitors with an appointment (such as customers signing rental leases).

Shared facilities
Please avoid using club rooms and meetings of residents until further notice. All VTS gyms are closed until further notice and the childcare facilities are on a break. You may use laundry rooms, but observe good hygiene and do not assemble in numbers in them. If you have flu symptoms, please do not use shared facilities. Give your neighbours peace and quiet round the clock and avoid things like playing loud music.

Sauna reservations and cleaning of shared facilities
All sauna reservations are cancelled until further notice. Sauna fees will be removed from the rents from 1 April 2020. That means you can reduce your rent payment by e15/month, if it previously included a sauna fee. However, if you continue to include the sauna fee in your rent payment, the money will be reserved as an advance payment which you can use when paying rent in future. We will inform residents when sauna reservations and payments are back in use.

The time used for cleaning saunas will now be used for cleaning the stairwells. Shared spaces will be cleaned daily. The cleaning of bannisters and other contact surfaces will be intensified (particularly bannister handrails, lifts, street door handles, etc.). The cleaning companies have been given precise instructions on how to act in this abnormal situation.

You can also prevent the spread of the virus through your own actions. Avoid groups of people (one person at a time in the lift). Wash your hands carefully. When you sneeze, use a disposable tissue and throw it away in the general waste. When you open doors and press buttons in the lift, gloves are a good idea.

Service work and visits to flats
At the moment, we will only visit inhabited flats in the case of essential fault repairs or damage. This also applies to VTS-kodit service providers and other partners. Essential fault notifications, repairs and damage work will be done, if necessary, in appropriate personal protective equipment (disposable gloves and shoe guards, mask). Before visiting the flat, we will agree the visit with the resident and check their health status (i.e., for possible flu symptoms).

Changes caused by coronavirus to finances
If you have difficulties paying rent because of a lay-off or unemployment, please contact us immediately to agree rent payment at maksusuunnitelma@vts.fi.

The number for the coronavirus information line is 0295 535 535. You can find further information on www.thl.fi/korona

With these cautionary measures we are playing our part in preventing the spread of the virus. We are very sorry for the inconvenience we are causing and thank you for your understanding in this abnormal situation.

Best wishes,
VTS-kodit
